Leech was founded in 2002, following a few lose sessions with different line-ups, by Robo, Andy, Sly and Pedro. Since then the four were constantly working on their sound and repertoire.
In 2003 Leech released their self-titled 3-Piece-Demo which was very positively received by different Internet platforms. At numerous Gigs throughout Germany , the four musicians proved their live qualities. The Demo sold out in “no time” leaving fans waiting for more.
Finally giving in to the request for a whole Album, Leech dedicated most of the year 2005 to the recordings of their first long player.
Following the working title of the album, “One hundred thousand burning guitars”, the four Rockers recorded innumerable tracks. After uncounted recording sessions they were finally satisfied!
Unfortunately drummer Pedro decided to leave the band after the recordings, leaving the rest of the boys in desperate need for somebody to fill in for upcoming gigs. The man of the hour and from there onward the new member of Leech’s rhythm section was: “the electric” Dan. Dan is much more than a substitute fit in right from the beginning! He managed improved the energetic sound of the quartet even further.
At the Altstadt Fest in Jever, Dan’s first live experience with the band, the pre-release Single “Hard to Stay Single” was released, allowing a first impression of what was to be expected of the long awaited Album.
Leech finally released their Debut-Album “Impressions of a Mind’s Eye” on their very own record label Mad Noise Music. The Album was first introduced to local fans at a Release-Party in their hometown Freiburg in December of 2005. In March 2006 “Impressions of a Mind’s Eye” was released in cooperation with SX Distribution.
Off to rock the world, you’ll probably see them on a stage near you!!
